Services

Hardscape for the way a Northeast Ohio yard actually gets used.

Working with stone, brick, and slate is our specialty. Patios, walls, shelter, water, light, kitchens, fire, and the planting that finishes it.

Paver patios & walkways

A patio is the fastest and most economical way to extend your home’s living space.

We build in pavers because they look good, hold a pattern, and can be repaired or extended later without ripping the whole yard apart. Colors, textures, and finishes are yours to choose. The layout follows how you use the space: dinner outside, a path from the curb to the door, or the deck around a pool.

Working with stone, brick, and slate is our specialty. Curves, borders, and inlays are part of the craft, not an upcharge conversation we dodge.

What's included

  • Patios, walkways, and pool decks
  • Steps, landings, and borders
  • Curves, inlays, and pattern work
  • A base and edge restraint built to stay put
Stone-faced retaining wall with a light capstone holding up a raised planting bed beside a gray paver patio and square fire pit
  • Curved block seat wall wrapped around a lit round fire pit, with a paver walkway and planted beds at dusk
  • Wraparound paver patio with a stone-faced grill island, a square fire pit, and a raised stone wall bed beside a mowed lawn

Retaining walls

Walls hold soil, make a slope usable, and give the yard a finished edge.

A retaining wall can slow erosion, turn a hill into a level patio, or simply give the planting beds a clean line. Safety and durability come first. The taller the wall, the more it matters that the base, drainage, and batter are done right. That is work worth leaving to people who build walls for a living.

We build block walls, seat walls, and steps. Flagstone and timber tie walls are part of the work too, when that is what the yard calls for.

What's included

  • Retaining walls and seat walls
  • Steps built into the wall
  • Flagstone and timber tie walls
  • Drainage planned with the wall, not after it
Roofed pavilion over a dining table on a paver patio, with trellis panels, a boulder bed, a Japanese maple, and a wide lawn
  • Overhead view of a metal-roofed pavilion on a paver patio, edged with natural wall stones, river rock, boulders, and flower beds
  • Pool surround with a roofed pavilion sheltering a counter and mini fridge, plus a round fire pit ringed by lounge seating inside the pool fence

03

Pergolas & shelters

Fun in the sun is nice. Shade and a little privacy are what make you stay outside.

Pergolas and pavilions turn a patio into a room. Eat dinner, watch a game, get out of a passing shower, and still be in the yard. There is no single look. Timber frames, roofed pavilions, and open rafters all start from how you want to use the space.

We build the structure to sit on the hardscape, not beside it as an afterthought. Posts, beams, and the patio underneath are one project.

What's included

  • Pergolas and open timber frames
  • Roofed pavilions and covered patios
  • Shade and privacy where you sit
  • Structures tied into the patio layout
Boulder water feature spilling into a river rock bed beside a paver patio, with a Japanese maple, red flowers, and lawn
  • Pool surround with a roofed pavilion sheltering a counter and mini fridge, plus a round fire pit ringed by lounge seating inside the pool fence

Water features

A water feature, big or small, becomes the thing the yard is built around.

The sound of running water does a lot of the work. Waterfalls, ponds, and fountains give a patio a center, and they quiet a yard that sits closer to the road than you’d like.

We also build the hardscape around pools and spas: surrounds, seating ledges, sun shelves, shade, and the patio that ties the water back to the house. Bring a pool company you already trust, or we can coordinate with partners we have built alongside — Hudson Pools and Spas, Highland Construction, and Classic Pools.

What's included

  • Waterfalls, ponds, and fountains
  • Boulder and flat-stone water features
  • Pool and spa surrounds
  • Seating ledges, shade, and the patio around the water

Outdoor lighting

Lighting shows the work after sunset and makes the walk from the car a safer one.

A patio that disappears at dusk is only half finished. We set lights into walls, columns, steps, and planting beds so the fixtures stay quiet and the stone does the talking. The aim is a yard you can use at night, and a path you can see.

Lights are planned with the hardscape, not clipped on after the fact. Caps, columns, and the edges of a walk are where they belong.

What's included

  • Wall and column uplights
  • Step and path lighting
  • Lighting in planting beds
  • Nighttime use and a clearer walk to the door
Built-in grill station with a stone-veneer base and a dark countertop at the corner of a paver patio with lounge chairs
  • Wraparound paver patio with a stone-faced grill island, a square fire pit, and a raised stone wall bed beside a mowed lawn
  • Aerial view of a banded paver patio with lounge chairs, a built-in grill station, a dining patio by the house, and curved planting beds edged in lawn

06

Outdoor kitchens

If you like having people over, the kitchen should be outside with them.

We build the masonry: grill stations, counters, prep space, and room for a pizza oven, a sink, a fridge, or storage. Electric and plumbing get coordinated so the kitchen works, not just photographs well.

The kitchen sits on the same patio as the table and the fire. One layout, not three projects that never quite meet.

What's included

  • Grill stations and counters
  • Prep space and storage
  • Room for a pizza oven, sink, or fridge
  • Dining space planned with the kitchen
Square fire pit filled with lava rock on a large-format light-gray patio beside a covered porch
  • Curved block seat wall wrapped around a lit round fire pit, with a paver walkway and planted beds at dusk
  • Looking straight down into a square fire pit filled with lava rock, framed by smooth stone caps and large pavers
  • Wraparound paver patio with a stone-faced grill island, a square fire pit, and a raised stone wall bed beside a mowed lawn

Fireplaces & fire pits

Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down.

Fireplaces and fire pits keep a patio in play on a cool Ohio night. They add warmth, and they give people a place to gather that isn’t the kitchen island.

We install gas and wood-burning fireplaces and fire pits. In our opinion, gas is always the right decision.

What's included

  • Gas and wood-burning fire pits
  • Masonry fireplaces
  • Seat walls around the fire
  • Fire built into the patio, not set on top of it
Paver walkway running between fresh mulch beds and shrubs along the side of a brick house, toward a patio with a fire pit
  • Overhead view of a metal-roofed pavilion on a paver patio, edged with natural wall stones, river rock, boulders, and flower beds
  • Boulder water feature spilling into a river rock bed beside a paver patio, with a Japanese maple, red flowers, and lawn
  • Aerial view of a banded paver patio with lounge chairs, a built-in grill station, a dining patio by the house, and curved planting beds edged in lawn

Finishing touches

The stone is the structure. Plants and beds are what make it look like it belongs.

A new patio sitting on bare dirt still looks like a job site. We finish the work with plants, flower beds, gardens, natural stone, and mulch so the hardscape has a soft edge.

Tell us what you want to take care of, and what you don’t. The planting should match the yard you already have, not fight it.

What's included

  • Planting beds and gardens
  • Natural stone and boulders
  • Mulch and bed edges
  • A finished edge where the patio meets the lawn
